  1. Police in Northumberland are appealing for information after a woman was robbed in the street. A 61-year-old woman was walking on Hallington Drive in Seaton Delaval at about 6pm on Saturday December 9, when she was confronted by a man who punched her and stole her bag. The woman was left with minor injuries from the incident but was understandably left shaken. The offender is described as a white male, 5ft 8in, clean shaven. He was wearing dark coloured trousers and hoody, and aged between 40-50 years of age. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and extra officers have been patrolling the area but now police have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to get in touch. Officers particularly want to speak to a man believed to be around 17-years-old who helped the woman, chased the offender and retrieved the handbag. Anyone who saw the incident, or believes they may have information about the man responsible, should contact officers on 101 quoting reference number 154604J/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
  2. Police investigating a burglary in Seghill have released an image of a man they would like to speak to. The incident happened between 11.30pm on Sunday, August 6 and 7am the following morning in Hazlitt Place. An offender has entered the house via the back garden and has gone on to steal a number of personal belongings. Officers are carrying out enquiries and released an image of a man they would like to speak to as it is believed he was in the area at the time. The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 145 070817.
  3. Police investigating a fatal collision on in Whitley Bay on the A193 The Links, in North Tyneside want to trace a car which stopped at the scene. The collision happened at 9.42pm on Sunday, May 7, when an 18-year-old male pedestrian died after being struck by a Renault Megane travelling south on the A193. Officers are now appealing for the driver of a light coloured Mini, and it's occupants, to come forward. Police have been told the Mini stopped and assisted at the scene of the collision. Sergeant Steve Minnikin, from Motor Patrols said: "We've been told this light coloured Mini car had been travelling from Seaton Sluice towards Whitley Bay when it stopped at the scene of the collision and gave assistance. The driver and the occupants of this car are crucial witnesses to this collision in which an 18-year-old man sadly died. I would urge them to contact police as soon as possible on 101 as we believe they can help us with this investigation." Officers are also continuing to appeal for any CCTV footage from homes or business premises, or from any motorists who may have dashcam style footage, of a Renault Megane and a Vauxhall Corsa car travelling from Blyth towards Whitley Bay around 9pm to the time of the collision at 9.42pm in the following areas: North Tyneside (Shiremoor, North Shields, Monkseaton, Whitley Bay), and Northumberland (Seaton Delaval, Seaton Sluice, Blyth - bottom end near the links). Anyone with any CCTV footage or any information about this incident is asked to contact motor patrols on 101 quoting reference 1076 07/05/17.
  4. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a fatal collision in Whitley Bay on the A193 The Links, in North Tyneside. It happened at 9.42pm on Sunday, May 7, when an 18-year-old male pedestrian died after being struck by a Renault Megane travelling south on the A193. Two males who had been arrested in connection with the collision, have now been released pending further enquiries. Officers investigating the collision are now are asking for any CCTV footage from homes or business premises, or from any motorists who may have dashcam style footage, of a Renault Megane and a Vauxhall Corsa car travelling from Blyth towards Whitley Bay around 9pm to the time of the collision at 9.42pm in the following areas: North Tyneside (Shiremoor, North Shields, Monkseaton, Whitley Bay), and Northumberland (Seaton Delaval, Seaton Sluice, Blyth - bottom end near the links). Sergeant Steve Minnikin, from Northumbria Police Motor Patrols, said: "We are asking for help from the public to assist our enquiries into this fatal collision. Specifically we're asking for any CCTV footage that motorists may have captured when travelling in the area, or from homes or businesses who also may have had CCTV operating. "Any footage of these two vehicles at the relevant time would be of interest to our enquiry."   5. Motorbike stolen in Blyth

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike was stolen in Blyth. It happened between 2am and 5am on Saturday, May 6, from a rear yard of an address in Delaval Crescent in Newsham. The motorbike, a black and red Suzuki GT, was chained up and it was dragged out of the yard by offenders who were unseen. Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact them. Officers want to hear from anyone who may be offered the motorbike for sale.   6. Appeal following indecent exposures

    Police investigating incidents of indecent exposure in Northumberland have released an image of a man they want to trace. The incidents took place last week in Seghill, Seaton Delaval, Seaton Sluice and Bedlington Station areas. Officers have an image following an incident on Tuesday, March 28, at 3.30pm at Elsdon Avenue, Seaton Delaval. The man pictured was in the area at the time and may have information that could help with the enquiry. Officers are carrying out enquiries into these incidents and are appealing for the man pictured to get in contact. The man or anyone who recognises him is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 767 280317 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
  7. Police are appealing for information following four incidents of indecent exposure in the Seghill, Seaton Delaval, Seaton Sluice and Bedlington Station areas of Northumberland. The first incident happened at 3.51pm on Tuesday, March 28, on Elsdon Avenue, Seaton Delaval, where a man exposed himself to two girls aged 14 on their way home from school. The second incident occured the same day in the park at Deneside, Seghill at around 3.30pm. A man is alleged to have exposed himself to another 14 year old girl walking home from school. The third incident occurred on Wednesday, March 29, at 5.30pm near to the bowling green between Collywell Bay Road and Beresford Road in Seaton Sluice. A male matching the description from the previous day again exposed himself to a 15 year old girl. The fourth incident occurred in a park on Bank Top in Bedlington Station at 7.15pm on Wednesday, March 29 . The same male is again alleged to have exposed himself to young girls in the park. The man is described as wearing a red or maroon jumper or jacket and aged around 60. None of the victims were harmed but have been left shaken by the offence. Officers are carrying out enquiries and believe that the same person could be responsible for all incidents.   8. Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of two bicycles in Seaton Delaval. It happened between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, December 4. Thieves got into an unlocked garage at a house in Ridge End Drive and stole two bicycles and made off unseen. The bikes are a grey Cannondale bike and a Felt 2009 model with illuminous green tyre walls, hybrid. Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police. Officers also want to hear from anyone who may be offered these stolen bicycles for sale.   9. Police are appealing for witnesses after a theft from a vehicle in Seaton Delaval. It happened after the car was left parked securely on a driveway on Prospect Avenue, in Northumberland, at 4pm on Tuesday, November 29. Thieves smashed the rear driver's side window and stole two large Argos bags filled with children's toys.   10. Criminal damage to vehicle

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a vehicle was deliberately damaged in Blyth. The incidents happened between 8pm on Monday, November 21, and 8am, on Thursday, November 24, to a car on Delaval Crescent in Newsham. An unknown person deflated the tyres on the car parked on the driveway. They returned on two other occasions and scratched the off-side panel and smashed the front nearside headlight causing substantial damage to the vehicle. Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police.   11. Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of fencing in Seaton Delaval. It happened at Seaton Terrace Allotments in Northumberland, on Thursday, September 22, between 9.30am and 5pm. Thieves stole 11 wooden planks from a fence before making off unseen. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.   12. Window damaged in Seaton Delaval

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a window was damaged at a house in Seaton Delaval. It happened at 8.30pm on Wednesday, September 21, at an address in Elsdon Avenue in Northumberland when a stone was thrown at the porch window causing a hole in the glass.   13. Two shed burglaries

    Police are appealing for witnesses following two shed burglaries in Northumberland. They both happened overnight between 8.30pm on Saturday, August 6 and 9.30am on Sunday , August 7. In both cases burglars forced entry to the shed. They stole a lawn mower and Bosch grinder and other tools from an address in Riverbank, Stakeford in Ashington. However, thieves made off empty handed after forcing entry to a shed in Park Road, Seaton Delaval.   14. Bike stolen at school

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a bicycle was stolen from a school in Cramlington. The mountain bike was left next to the bike shed at Astley High School in Elsdon Avenue in Seaton Delaval when it was stolen between 8.40am and 2.50pm on Tuesday, April 12. The black and grey coloured Merida bike was left unlocked by the pupil and was subsequently stolen.   15. Windows smashed in Seaton Delaval

    Police are appealing for information after two windows were smashed in Seaton Delaval. Between 6:45pm Wednesday, December 24, and 5:50am on Sunday, December 28, vandals used part of a paving slab to smash two windows at an address in Starlight Crescent. No one was injured in the incident and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference number 605 28/12/14.
